Laws of Refraction and Refractive Index

Laws of Refraction :
(i) The incident ray, the refracted ray and the normal at the point of incidence all lie in the same plane.
(ii) When a ray of light undergoes refraction then the ratio of sine of angle of incidence to the sine of angle of refraction is constant.
The Refractive Index : The refractive index of medium 2 with respect to medium is given by the ratio of the speed of light in medium 1 and the speed of light in medium 2. This is usually represented by the symbol n21. This can be expressed in an equation form as

STATES OF MATTER We can classify matters into 3 types:- Solids  Liquids  Gas In this chapter, we will be discussing only Solids. SOLIDS In our daily life, we see many types of solid objects. Some of which can easily break and some of which are very hard. Some with a very shiny surface and some with no lustre at all. These are some of the physical features of a solid. They can be classified into two types on the basis of there crystal type:- Crystalline  Amorphous  Crystalline types are those whose structure is ordered in the entire Lattice. For Example, Diamond, Crystalline Glass etc. Amorphous are those whose structure is not ordered or ordered in a very small region. Apologies for late posts

Dear Friends, I am really sorry for the late posting of the posts and I feel that it might have somehow been a problem to all of you. Hence I promise you that I will be posting at least three topics revision notes on my blog every week. I wanted to do more but due to my own schedule I am unable to push it further.
