STATES OF MATTER
We can classify matters into 3 types:-
- Solids
- Liquids
- Gas
SOLIDS
In our daily life, we see many types of solid objects. Some of which can easily break and some of which are very hard. Some with a very shiny surface and some with no lustre at all. These are some of the physical features of a solid. They can be classified into two types on the basis of there crystal type:-
- Crystalline
- Amorphous
Amorphous are those whose structure is not ordered or ordered in a very small region. For Example, Graphite, Glass, etc.
The Crystalline solids have a different unit constituent. The lattices formed by these units are called Bravais Lattices.
There are basically 14 types of lattices.
I have uploaded the structures from Wikipedia and no need to remember
Schoenflies. There is another list which will give you the examples of the lattices.
You will have to learn it by heart. As it is asked directly in Jee Mains and in the class 12 board.
Hope this will help you in understanding the topic and for more details go through the NCERT books. They will be more than enough for JEE Mains.
do we need to mug up structure names with its parameters??
ReplyDeletedefinitely bro it will help you
